Wandering Stars
Wandering Stars
Wandering Stars was a development at La Boite Theatre Company written and directed by playwright extraordinaire Alethea Beetson with the help of Jhindu-Pedro Lawrie on sound/set design and Hannah Brontë on costume design.
The performance was grounded in the ideas the young people had for the future, as well as some of the concerns they are now facing. In the performance ancestral energy is the life force of a new planet, within a new galaxy, in a future connected to technology, ceremony and ancestors. Through this creative and entertaining perspective Digi Youth Arts posed the reality of being the generation responsible to the past, present and future.
Wandering stars was warmly received by the audience and community, cast member Aidan Rowlingson said it best: “This developmental work takes the black box theatre and hurls it threw space and time to a place where culture, environment and storytelling is the breath of life. Because, well… it always was and always will be”.
