I spend my days...
Sleeping! But I spend my nights working hard. I also enjoy playing any kind of sport.
How are you connected to Digi Youth Arts:
I was lucky enough to help shape and perform in one of their plays. I am now an Ambassador for the organisation.
Where do you want DYA to go?
To reach our goal of producing a world-class feature film that shares a positive indigenous story.
I believe the arts...
gives everybody a way to express themselves, through many different pathways. It keeps us moving forward.
What does your indigenous identity mean for you?
Everything! It is who I am. It is where I am from. It is a connection to family, community. Everything becomes connected. We are one.
What are the biggest issues facing indigenous youth today?
Stereotypes and racism. Growing up I was always stereotyped. I got labelled into limiting groups which made me feel isolated at school. There was no other indigenous young person to stand beside.
This is still a big part of our society now. Often when people hear I am indigenous they are taken back; shocked that I am well-education and hard-working.
How do we create a more compassionate and understanding Australia?
Start educating our young! We have to teach young people about our history and culture. Everybody needs to know about the past so there is an understanding of where we are today. This will help us build a better future.
We need to find time to relax in this fast-paced world and genuinely get to know the people around us.
