Name: Cormac Finn
Mob/cultural connection: Kabi Kabi
Role at Yonder Festival: Member of the Ancient Bloods
What is your favourite part of a festival?
Building connections with people, I mightn’t normally have the chance to meet let alone speak to. (This can be elders or even other musicians and creatives.)
What is your least favourite part of a festival?
Accessibility, many festivals are hard to get access and hard to travel too when you have lots of equipment.
What do you want to see from festivals when it comes to First Nations engagement and programming?
I want to see more First Nations performances but most importantly youth performances. Youth are the people who will carry stories from our elders and continue to tell them in the future.
How can festivals become more inclusive places for all communities?
Having a diverse range of activities and performances that will appeal to all audiences
What advice do you give to festival audiences to make the most out of their experience?
Stay open minded and go out and listen or see something you normally would not.
What act/s are you most looking forward to seeing at Yonder Festival?
I do not have much knowledge about the acts at Yonder but I’m looking forward to seeing new acts and new talents.
